How to get Quelaags Furysword

Chaos Witch Quelaag

Chaos Witch Quelaag

A half woman, half spider demon located in the depths of the world.
One of the Witch of Izariths daughters, transformed into a monster by the flames of chaos. Guards the second Bell of Awakening.

There seems to be a lot of confusion over exactly how you get this sword and so here is a small post explaining how you can get your hands on it.  You can trade in any boss soul for either some kind of weapon/shield etc or you can trade them for souls but I would urge you to always attempt to use them for a weapon as souls can be gotten anywhere in the game and these weapons can only be gotten once per play through.

First things first it is important to note that the Soul of Quelaag can make two different weapons either the Chaos Blade or the Fury Sword and those two blades require a weapon that is fully upgraded to +10 via a blacksmith.  You will also need Titanite shards (see below) to do this upgrading and souls to pay for it until it reaches +10.

The Furysword.

So you will need:

  • Quelaags Soul (Obviously).
  • Some form of  +10 weapon.
  • You will need 9 Titanite shards.
  • You will need 10 Large Titanite Shards.

Swords you can use to make the Furysword are:

  • Painting Guardian Sword.
  • Murakumo.
  • Server.
  • Shotel.
  • Scimitar .
  • Falchion.

Where is all this stuff?

  • If you dont have any of the swords listed above then you can purchase a Scimitar from the merchant in the Undead Burg.
  • The Blacksmith that can make these boss weapons is in Anor Londo [location]
  • Large Titanite Shards can be bought from a merchant on top of Sens Fortress for 4000 souls each(**).

** Alternative way to farm Large Titanite Shards: You can farm 1 shard from a Large Shield Knight in the Painting World.  Near the end of the level is the knight, he drops it every time.
